Data Migration – Video Files on SharePoint 2010

Standard

We were in the process of migrating our data from File Server to SharePoint 2010, that we did successfully. We excluded the media images and media files, as these were of high GB size and required cleansing exercise. From 500GB we cut down to 150GB, deleted the old images, irrelevant videos, party and Christmas pictures. When ever we deleted bulk amount of images and videos, we wanted to have a quick look of how much GB of data we have now? so we used below tool ” Instant File Find”, that would give us the data size of the required file extension and location of the file.

Like if I want to know what is my images file size having extensions .jpg, I could find it using the below tool. Just type the file type and browse the location. It will tell you the size in KBs and location of the file.
